A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.

Right now, in Australia, some people do not have the legal right to marry the partner of their choice.
The VGLRL is a proud partner of the Marriage Equality Matters campaign, a joint-campaign of state and federal LGBTI rights groups from across Australia. Marriage Equality Matters tells the stories of people like you who believe that every Australian should have equal rights, and should have equal access to marriage.
All families should have the right to marriage equality, so they are able experience this rite of passage, and make it part of their story.
Marriage equality is an issue that affects everyone. You might know a parent, daughter, son, niece, nephew, uncle, aunt or cousin who wants marriage to be part of their story. You might want this for your own relationship.
Marriage equality is about participation in family life. We hope this campaign will make MPs aware that the issue doesn’t just affect couples who can’t get married, but also their friends, families and many others in the community.
You can be part of the campaign by:
- Telling your story and uploading your photos to the site;
- Support stories that people have sent in; and
- Joining the campaign and saying “I commit to Marriage Equality”
